Things to Know

For individual sessions, you will be lying down on a massage table and blanket and eye mask will be provided

For group sessions, a yoga mat and blanket and cushion will be provided for you.

 

What should I bring?
Please bring anything additional that will support you in laying down for the duration of the session.  Items may include but are not limited to: an eye mask, a blanket, a pillow.
A water bottle to hydrate.


What's going to happen?
You'll arrive a few minutes early, pick a spot to get settled into the space, everyone will say hello, maybe some chatting will happen, water drinking, restroom use etc.
When it's time for the soundbath to start I'll ring the himalayan singing bowl, and we'll start slowly with some observational breathing. I'll set some expectations to remind everyone to allow any and all of the sensations they experience; and we will practice breathing and setting our intentions for the session.
From there we'll move along into a meditative sound bath session.


What's a sound bath meditation?
It's just the part of the sound bath that has some guided meditation. I use my voice, and usually the healing instruments to slowly coax you into relaxation.


What happens during a sound bath?
During my sound baths, I'll create a soundscape using crystal bowls, himalayan singing bowls, chimes, tuning forks, seed shell chimes, a wave drum and more that will wash over you with sounds, allowing the space for your mind to relax and your body to receive the sound waves.


Who should skip this experience?
Anyone who does not enjoy feeling relaxed and nurtured.
But also:
The following people should consult their doctor before the first use of sound therapy:
• People with carotid stenosis (prior to application in the area of the carotid artery/larynx)
• People with cardiac pacemakers, artificial heart valves, or cardiac arrhythmias

• People with insulin pumps
• People with a stent
• People with a shunt

• People with metal plates or screws in their body
• People with a deep brain stimulation device (DBS)
• People with epilepsy
• Pregnant people


Can children come?
You know your child the best! Sometimes the duration of a group sound bath which is a minimum of 60mins can be hard on a wiggly kid- but some older kiddos and teenagers love the experience. So long as they can remain lying down on the yoga mat or the massage table for the entire period, they should be fine!

Please be aware that sound baths are a deeply restful and meditative experience for most attendees so if your child is unable to participate for that long a time, email me and we can make an arrangement for a kid friendly event!
